Lazy Obalende

Obalende is a major business district in Lagos. Reputed as one of the busiest parts Lagos Island, it plays host to many migrants from Northern Nigeria. On a very busy week day, petty traders, taxis, local transport workers and their commuters are seen around the area. There is also an influx of passers-by navigating the Island from the mainland. On Sunday 23rd October 2011, hundreds of photographers from the Lagos Photo festival, an Etisalat-sponsored project, marched onto the streets of Obalende with a single focus – to photographically illustrate the area as “Lazy”. Of course, it was a Sunday and most business activities had ground to a halt. Here is a presentation of my submission for the Photo walk.
