Tosin + Peter: Rural Love Prewedding Shoot
March 26, 2016
We present an amazing couple, Tosin and Peter who have literally become our friends. First time speaking with Tosin, I was stunned by their choice. They wanted their prewedding session to have a rural feel and Tosin felt it would be so interesting to act during the session as a way of keeping life-long memories. So we decided on a rural area somewhere in Lagos and set out to travel from Lekki axis of Lagos into Isefun, a town around the suburb of Ayobo.
The village shoot was one we felt would be quiet stressful for our couple as they both lived in the UK, but it turned out to be a memorable experience for them. During our planning I had mentioned that it was quiet far from Lekki and asked if they would be willing to make it a travel and sightseeing journey. She immediately said YES and they would be thrilled to do just that. At that point I knew it was quite important to do the shoot as she desired and wanted to capture the best moments for them.
So we set out on the journey at noon and drove over 45km for a hour and a half to get to the small town of Isefun. On arrival, everyone was willing to accept us and help out with our concept for the shoot. A woman helped with trays of pepper and other foodstuff and another woman allowed us use her house for the shoot provided we gave her some money afterwards.
The concept was very simple.Tosin was depicted as a foodstuff seller whom Peter, (a crown prince disguised as a farmer), fell in love with. It was like an African Movie and Tosin and Peter made it so interesting and fun by gracing us with their acting skills and with the right emotions.
For the next shoot, we opted for a modern and elegant twist, so we spoke to the awesome guys at Eko Hotel’s Red Restaurant who gave us some time to shoot just after dinner rush.We ended the shoot at around 12:00 am in the morning and the couple was ever so patient.
We love couples who are always willing to go out of their comfort zone to get the best for themselves. The fulfilling part about both shoots was Tosin. She was every photographer’s delight as she smiled all through the sessions, enjoying every moment with her dapper groom, Peter… We can’t wait to photograph their big day in April 2016!
Enjoy this few selection.
